Dr. Samantha Gump was born in Sarasota, FL and grew up in Bradenton, FL. She is a proud alumna of the University of South Florida in Tampa, FL where she earned a Bachelor of Science in Health Sciences in 2014 before obtaining her Doctorate of Chiropractic degree from Palmer College of Chiropractic in Port Orange, FL in 2018. Following graduation she joined New Smyrna Beach Chiropractic Clinic in New Smyrna, Florida as an associate doctor. Dr. Samantha opened 122 Chiropractic in January, 2021.
Common chiropractic techniques that Dr. Samantha utilizes include: Diversified, Thompson Drop, Gonstead, Flexion Distraction, and Activator. She regularly attends continuing education courses to remain current with her adjusting skills, improve her clinical skills, and to expand her knowledge about the most effective way to treat a variety of conditions.

Dr. Samantha has completed over 200 clinical hours of training and education in acupuncture since 2016 which have been accredited by the University of Bridgeport. She became board certified in medical acupuncture in 2019. She became certified in the Soliman Auricular Allergy Treatment (SAAT) in 2022 for the effective treatment of Alpha-Gal Syndrome.
Dr. Samantha was born and raised in Florida and finally saw snow for the first time in January 2018. She met her husband, Dr. Robert Gump at CrossFit while attending Palmer College of Chiropractic, and the Drs. Gump decided to return to his hometown in Franklin County, Virginia to establish and set their roots for years to come. In her free time, Dr. Samantha likes to spend time outdoors, in a movie theatre, at church, coaching at and operating CrossFit SML, reading, and traveling. When circumstances allow, she especially enjoys exploring new parts of the country. One of her most favorite hikes to date is in Portland, Oregon at the Tamanawas Falls.

Dr. Robert Gump grew up in Franklin County, Virginia. He graduated from Franklin County High
 School in 2012. Dr. Gump then remained in the region and went on to pursue his associates
 degree at Virginia Western Community College before finishing his undergraduate education at
 Virginia Tech in 2017. Following graduation from Virginia Tech, Dr. Gump spent the next several
 years pursuing his Doctorate (D.C) from Palmer College of Chiropractic in Port Orange, Florida. Following graduation, he worked as an associate doctor with Tuck Chiropractic in Bedford, Virginia. In February 2022, Dr. Gump joined his wife Dr. Samantha Gump in practice at 122 Chiropractic.
Dr. Gump experienced great results as a Chiropractic patient after suffering from sports related
 football and motocross injuries in high school which were not responding to traditional western
 medical interventions. Being already interested in nutrition science and holistic healthcare, a career in Chiropractic was a natural fit.
Common chiropractic techniques that Dr. Gump utilizes include: Diversified, Thompson Drop, Gonstead, Flexion Distraction, and Activator. Dr. Gump has received additional professional training in the areas of perinatal care, pediatric care, and sports medicine. He is currently enrolled in the CACCP program through the International Chiropractic Pediatric Association which includes the highly sought after Webster Technique certification. Dr. Gump has extensive experience as a high school and college athlete, is the head coach at CrossFit SML, and loves working with athletes of all ages. Dr. Gump is also currently studying for his Virginia acupuncture license. He prioritizes providing patients with care that is custom tailored to their individual goals and preferences.
When not caring for patients, Dr. Gump can be found just about anywhere outdoors, in a
 CrossFit gym, garage, coffee shop, at church, or traveling to new places.

Alexis Hines is a Licensed and Board Certified Massage Therapist. Alexis was born and raised in Eden, North Carolina and graduated from Morehead High School in 2016. After graduation, she moved to Wilmington, NC where she lived for 6 years. She graduated from Aveda Institute of Wilmington in 2021. When not working with clients, Alexis enjoys spending time with her family, being in nature, camping, traveling, meditating and music festivals.
Alexis explored different studies during her time at universities including psychology and art but found her passion in massage. As a massage therapist she uses a variety of techniques tailored to each individual’s needs. She loves incorporating a mix of modalities including deep tissue, Swedish, trigger point, myofascial, stretching and energy work.
Alexis’ focus is relieving the body of tension while creating a safe and nurturing environment. She not only strives for physical benefits from massage but for mental, emotional and spiritual wellbeing. Her compassionate, intuitive nature and her appreciation for the body-mind-spirit connection, creates a safe haven for clients to relax deeply and be supported in their process of healing and rejuvenation.

Courtney was born in Washington State to a military family who planted their roots in Southern Maryland. In 2016, Courtney graduated from Mount St. Mary’s University in Emmitsburg, Maryland, where she majored in Sports Management. In 2020, Courtney moved to Smith Mountain Lake with her husband, Casey. Courtney’s an avid athlete, focusing on horseback riding while playing basketball and rugby through college.
Courtney started her massage journey working on horses, establishing CMF Performance Therapy. After two years of fixing compensation patterns in the horses caused by the riders, she decided to pursue her human license to correct rider imbalances. Courtney attended Daniel’s Institute of Massage & Healing Arts to obtain her licensure, expanding her passion of kinesiology for people across all walks of life. Utilizing therapeutic massage, including deep tissue, myofascial release, and sports massage, Courtney evaluates your body as a whole to rejuvenate posture and movement. With a focus on biomechanics, Courtney strives to help people improve performance, whether for athletic pursuits or everyday life.
When not massaging, you can find Courtney riding and competing with her equine partner Kovach, or curled up with a book in hand and her cat, Loki, and dog, Max, in her lap.
Karolina Ryan, lmt
Karolina currently owns and operates, The Perfect Soma Bodywork in Lynchburg, VA where she also offers appointments on a full time basis. 122 Chiropractic and Perfect Soma has been partnered since October 2023.
Karolina has been working in the personal care industry for 15 years, as an Esthetician and later a massage therapist. Over the years, she also gained knowledge in personal training, yoga school and corrective exercises specialist. These all work together to allow her to create comprehensive plans that are effective inside and outside of the treatment room, which is needed for long term relief and treatment of pain.

Karolina's goal as a bodyworker is to continue her education at all times and strive to provide expectational custom sessions that address not only symptoms but in many cases the cause as well.

Alex treats patients full time at The Perfect Soma Bodywork in Lynchburg, VA and has been with 122 Chiropractic offering her massage services since October 2023.
Alex is a licensed Massage Therapist with over two years of professional experience in pain management. She specializes in deep tissue, cupping therapy, and myofascial release techniques.
With a background in administration and communication she strives to bring a comprehensive approach to client care, focusing on effective bodywork principles to alleviate pain and enhance overall well-being.
Ash, a native to the Smith Mountain Lake area, received a Bachelor of Arts in Musical Theater & Dance from Christopher Newport University (Newport News, VA) in 2011. She pursued her career in the theater industry in New York City, auditioning & performing for a few years before transitioning into theatrical house management, and then into accounting/ticketing for a Broadway theater ownership and management company.
Simultaneously, Ash pursued her passion for holistic health & wellness by reading, taking courses, & deepening her personal practice within nutrition, ayurvedic cooking, bioenergetics, metaphysics, yoga, breathwork, & ecstatic dance. She received her certification as a Holistic Health Coach from the Institute for Integrative Nutrition in 2018. Ash helps others find the root of dis-ease in the body by working through emotions, limiting beliefs, & conditioned patterning, and then moving that energy through the body. Ash has studied with Yoga Farm Ithaca, and earned her 200-hr trauma-informed yoga certification in 2021. She currently teaches yoga both in-person & virtually through the LAT Wellness Studio in Moneta, VA. Ash also enjoys using instruments to aid others in their healing journey. She co-leads a monthly series at 122 Chiropractic called Acu-Medi, providing healing sounds from crystal singing bowls & various other instruments along with guided breathwork and meditation, to help clients access deeper states of healing and relaxation.
Ash places a high value on bodily movement and enjoys utilizing intuitive movement as a form of healing and self-expression. She’s an avid hiker, long-distance backpacker, minimalist traveler, and considers nature to be both God and her medicine. Ash completed a 400-mile section of the Appalachian Trail in 2021 and has enjoyed hiking throughout Virginia as well as in locations like Arizona, New York, North Carolina, Connecticut, Massachusetts, Vermont, New Hampshire, Costa Rica, Tenerife, and New Zealand.
